Australian Driver Trainers Association (National)
ADTA National, (referred to as the National) is an association of associations. It consists of a branch in every Australian jurisdiction which is governed by a Board. The Board consists of the President from every jurisdiction (all 8). The Chair of the meeting rotates with the annual conference. The annual conference rotates in a clockwise direction around Australia.
The Board elects a National President, National Treasurer and a National Secretary. The National Secretary's position is not necessarily drawn from the Board members, but can be a person who is a member of any jurisdiction.
The National Representative is the National President.
At the annual conference and AGM each jurisdiction sends their President plus one delegate. Each jurisdiction has only one vote and this vote is indicated by the branch Presidents. The delegate is there to assist the President. The delegate can be any member of a branch so voted to the position by the branch members.
There was an even split in 2004 of bringing a delegate who was not an executive committee person from the branches. In previous years branch delegates have more commonly been the branch Treasurers. There is no set rule that governs who a delegate will be. There is a set rule that the Presidents will attend as they form the National Board.
